Meggie Scores Her First NWSL Goal
In the 72nd minute of the Washington Spirit’s match against Sky Blue FC on August 4, 2017, Meggie found the net with her first goal in the NWSL.
There’s No Place Like Home
The most special moment of Meggie’s rookie season took place on April 22. Hailing from nearby Largo, FL, Meggie was able to make her professional debut in front of her family as the Spirit kicked off their 2017 season against the Pride in Orlando.
Don’t Fix What Ain’t Broke
Meggie calls her go-to pregame meal “pretty basic,” but it also helped her to rank amongst the top rookies in minutes played. It’s safe to say she’ll continue eating chicken, brown rice, broccoli, and carrots ahead of her games in 2018.
Flavor and Color are One-in-the-Same
It’s common for Gatorade to be recognized by its color instead of its flavor – Glacier Freeze is known as “blue,” Fruit Punch is known as “red,” Lemon-Lime is known as “yellow,” – but Meggie’s favorite flavor also happens to be the same as its color. Meggie’s preferred thirst-quencher is Orange.
